Reiki is universal energy. The System of Reiki is a meditative practice that was started in Japan over 100 years ago and has been used with people all over the world, and more recently with animals. Reiki relaxes and balances the body so healing can happen physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Reiki is perfect for animals because Reiki is energy that can touch without touching. Reiki touches more than the animals themselves. Reiki can assist  the staff and volunteers who work with the animals to stay balanced and in their hearts when the animals they encounter are under stress. The human communities whose lives are impacted by animals can also benefit from the power of Reiki.  And, other non-profits who work to support animals can further their mission by supporting the use of Reiki for the animals they serve.
